These are my personal views based on my limited knowledge of ground operations but based on study of many past battles and a military thinking developed over a period of time. In my opinion a CSD with IBGs will be far more successful in present scenerios for following reasons,

Let me put some counters here

If an enemy forward deploys and has very little depth with very high population density in the intended area of battle, the advantage will always be with the highly mobile attacker. The haphazard movement of the population will choke the roads and vital supply lines, rendering movement of war material and men forward difficult.

We have two types of terrains when we consider the space where we need to engage with the adversary in the west - deserts/plains and mountains.

I have put deserts and plains in a single sub heading primarily because of two reasons:

1. The changing and evolving landscape in desert (eg Rajasthan) as also the plains (i.e. Punjab) have limited the role of maneuver warfare in substantial space. The plains of Punjab will have constraints in the space to be able to employ armour in claissical formations and indeed bottle necks will be found due to the urban structures existing highly dense areas. In terms of desert, the place where armour can classically be employed is now limited and the problem of support in terms of being able to match logistics remains. The logistic supply chain is on board transport which shall need dedicated sand channels to be able to ply on. Therefore in terms of modern warfare the pace may not be that great.

2. In mountains, the axes of advance/attack are always limited due to terrian, hence the maneuverability is constrained. Needs no elaboration.

  • The highly mobile attacker can choose a time and place and rapidly move around within the theatre and also between theatres to switch and shock and surprise the forward deployed forces. The gaps can be identified well in advance and the chances by enemy to redploy quickly to block or take on highly mobile IBGs can be completely countered easily.

From earlier comment. The mobility may not be that efficacious in terms of substantial tactical advantage. The only real advantage that an IBG puts forth is the flexibility in quantum and direction of force that a commander can apply within a battle space, no more relegated to land alone. Also, although the gaps maybe be identified, a blocking force can only be effectively knocked out or contained, which needs additional troops. Simply bypassing a block will not suffice without containing it. Similarly, exploitation of such gaps will require logistical efforts that are constrained due to limitations as earlier, as also, may require additional troops to provide a screen when the envelopment of target in depth takes place.

Mobility
  • Enemy having moved part of reserve to forward areas to bolster its forces in its weak areas will leave it with limited assets to fall back on as reserve to blunt any breakthru by IBGs. Forward deployed forces and low reserves is the best scenerio for the success of an IBG. My study of old USSR OMG tactics shows that their tactics were based on this very situation as it intended to exploit gaps of the NATO forces to quickly penetrate deep enough to be able to engage the second echelons of the defences thereby delaying the support to the forward deployed forces sufficiently to allow for WARSAW pact forces to completely over run the forward defence line of NATO.
  • It is my assesment that IA is doing just this and forcing PA to expose its cards well before the game starts.

As far as economy is concerned,India is not a big deal for china.they are already a large economy and I don't think that they need India.yes they need indians to buy their products and they are doing it easily.they care about friends.recently we used their latest fighter jets and our pilots fly against s-400. Do you think all this cooperation is just a drama? We are a Nexus bro.

China's support to Pakistan appears to be Pyrrhic. China is running with the hare and hunting with the hounds. On one hand they claim that Kashmir issue should be settled under relevant charters and resolutions of the UN, but in the same breath they say the matter should be settled bilaterally by India and Pakistan. You should be wary of China's double talk.

Most of China ire was raised when the home minister was forced to admit in the parliament that India's claim on Pok and Chinese occupied Aksai Chin remained. The Home minister was forced to spell this out, because some brainless congress MP accused the govt to have given up its claim on PoK and Aksai chin. Had the home minister not been forced to make this statement in the parliament, there is good possibility that China may have remained completely neutral on this matter.

@Falcon

Sir , we can make all the preparations for War through New Doctrines and Weapons
But the most important thing is the "Casus Belli "

What will be the Justification to cross International Border

Friend, have been observing your posts for sometime. A personal remark is applicable when you make not only half baked and irrelevant posts pertaining to the forces but further insist on pushing the same narrative. Personal remark on you? I think you seriously need to take a relook as to why a consistent observation about you exists across multiple forums. This is not the only forum where you have made remarks that are ill informed and frankly, indicative of your attempt to push forward a skewed narrative that flies in face of facts...

Sir, what wrong have I said? There are people who are chamchas of politicians and can be found in both armed forces and bureaucracy and diplomacy. They have been misguiding from day one , bl**dy day1 .....that remain non violent, maintain peace with the enemy, maintain restrains. Damn hell with the restrain.

There are people in the government and armed forces who neither themselves act nor allow others to act just to avoid their 10 hours sleep getting cut short. How can you explain the loss of POJK and Mansarovar? Have we since Independence gained any territory? No, in 1965 we gained but we returned.

People have been observing my posts because I am showing them mirror. I told 200 times not 20 that there will not be any action and I again repeat there will not be. Why...? The reason is simple, we have in so many years lost capability. This is a truth no matter one believes or not but this is the reality. And in return I am also observing what is happening. I know deep inside that 1 Billion people are not capable enough to handle 200 million idiots.

We are 1 Billion and that Porkistan is merely 200 Million how the hell that country not even half of ours managed to tie our hands? Can some on explain this?

Forget tactical knowledge, that will only come into play when there is a conflict. But there won't be any conflict and that's the bitter truth. Sir if we were so capable enough to take back POJK, India would have done it. They all know that it can't be done.

And when I say all this , people get angry. Sir our soldiers are not fighting to satisfy some one's ego. If India can't get the territory back there is no point in fighting.

@Falcon I have a question. How are the new IBGs different from RAPIDs (Excluding the Air component)? As the IBGs are formed out of the units from strike corps and are unique in the no# of troops and material composition will the strike corps be dissolved? Can you explain what will happen to the corps?

The Israeli Connection:
There is more to Balakot than the numbers

Iqbal Chand Malhotra

The BJP President Amit Shah may not have been far-off the mark when he claimed that 250 terrorists were killed during the Indian Air Force’s air strike on Balakot at around 3:30 am local time on February 26th, 2019. However, Shah would never be able to provide the evidence to back his claim. Revealing the evidence would violate the charter of ‘The MOU on Geosynchronous Earth Orbit and Low Earth Orbit Optical Link’ signed between Prime Ministers Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel on July 5th, 2017 in New Delhi. This MoU permits Indian and Israeli satellites to ‘talk to each other’.

Let me explain further. EL/M-2070 Tec SAR, also known as Tech SAR, Polaris and Ofek-8, is an Israeli Reconnaissance Satellite equipped with synthetic aperture radar developed by Elta Systems. It was successfully launched on January 21st, 2008, by PSLV C-10, Launch Vehicle, from Sriharikota in India. This satellite is perhaps the world’s only satellite that is an indispensable system for military operations in the mountainous terrains of Central Asia that includes the Hindu Kush, Karakoram and Himalayan ranges. It is capable of imaging with a resolution of up to 10 centimeters, through an X-band radar system. The satellite’s maximum resolution is believed to be around 1 metre. Tec SAR’s was the first Israeli satellite to feature Synthetic Aperture Radar, or SAR, which provides images in day or night and under all-weather conditions.

Now, RISAT-2, or Radar Imaging Satellite 2, is an Indian Radar Reconnaissance Satellite that was built by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and successfully launched aboard a PSLV-CA rocket at 01:15 GMT on April 20th, 2009 from the second launchpad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. RISAT-2’s main sensor is also an X-band synthetic aperture radar from IAI. It is designed to monitor India’s borders and is a part of anti-infiltration and anti-terrorist operations.

Here is a possible scenario of what happened over Balakot on the night of Feb 26th, 2019. The Israeli satellite Tec SAR was tasked to directly send images of heat signatures of the number of terrorists sleeping in their dormitories in the Balakot Camp to RISAT-2. This exchange took place in outer space. Mind you, the dormitories were located in two separate buildings that flanked the main structure. The main structure was of no strategic or tactical interest. Having confirmed that whatever number of terrorists were in the land of nod, RISAT-2 transmitted this information to the designated IAF Phalcon AWACS that was controlling this attack. All of this would have happened in under 15 minutes. The Phalcon then transmitted the go-ahead to the Flight Leader of the Mirage 2000s to launch their ordnance. While this was in progress, it is presumed because of the sensitivity involved in this virgin exercise, Site IV of the US National Command Authorities (NCA) Ground Based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance System (GEODSS) at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean was also patched in. Diego Garcia in turn would be directly connected to the USAF Space Command Space Defence Centre (SPADOC) at the Cheyenne Mountain Complex. This in turn would have patched in the Pentagon.

The US, Israel and India jointly collaborated for the first time in a real-time encounter against Chinese technology and these two encounters will provide a lot of data

THE QUESTION IS: were the Mirage 2000s using the Israeli SPICE 2000? While undoubtedly, the SPICE 2000 ‘operates on pre-recorded GPS coordinates’, and the weapon’s ‘advanced identification and processing abilities can reportedly help overcome jamming efforts’, the public announcement of its usage may have been a decoy. My guess is that the Mirage 2000 which fired the ordnance was armed with the Israeli Delilah Cruise Missile. Delilah is a cruise missile capable of deceiving even the much-vaunted Trumpf S-400 Russian air defence system and can loiter over a contested area before hitting the target. Delilah has a range of 250 km and can penetrate any air defence system. This is why the Pakistani air defences were clueless as to what was hurtling through the skies towards Balakot. SPICE 2000 is nowhere in the league of Delilah. The use of Delilah would have also rattled the Chinese as they use the S-400 system. We seem to have the weapon capable of overriding even the Chinese Air Defence shield at present, if we really do have Delilah?

But this is by no means the end of the story. A confused and perplexed Pakistani leadership was floored. Their reaction was knee -jerk. The very next day, on February 27th, 2019 an assorted flight of PAF aircraft attempted to invade Indian air space and launch ordnance against targets in Jammu & Kashmir. Why did they flee and why did their ordnance not reach the designated targets?

The PAF used H4 Stand Off Weapon (SOW) in this attack. It has a terminal guidance system based on an infrared homing seeker, which identifies the target during the final stage of flight. Designed to hit targets till 120 km, the bomb may have the capability to evade radar. This is based on technology copied from the South African T-Darter BVR missile and in this particular case was susceptible to being jammed by the IAF’s IR Jammers which disabled the H4, confusing the infrared seekers placed in the cone of the H4. Furthermore, it is my guess that the IAF Phalcon controlling this dogfight was armed with the Rafael Sky Shield EW pod which can protect an entire fighter formation. All the AMRAAM’s fired by the PAF F16s and similar Chinese missiles fired by the PAF JF-17s, were disabled and flew harmlessly by. The entire battle will have to be broken down and diagnosed to decipher how the missile that downed Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s MiG- 21 Bison was able to penetrate the Sky Shield. Thereafter, heavy pressure from all of its benefactors, excepting China, compelled Pakistan to return Varthaman.

Undoubtedly, India owes a debt to Israel. The Tec SAR, RISAT, Phalcon, SPICE, Delilah, Sky Shield and MiG 21 Bison are all Israeli products. Pakistan for the first time realised both the limitations of its own ability to ‘steal and copy’ and the effectiveness of Chinese technology, and so did their Chinese overlords. The US, Israel and India jointly collaborated for the first time in a real-time encounter against Chinese technology and these two encounters will provide a lot of data for all the participants to analyse and study. This may open up such cooperation with Japan as well.

For the Chinese, from their point of view, this was an unfair fight and they desperately needed to prop up the demoralised Pakistani morale. Both the Chinese and the Pakistanis have got to know how India feels as they are pitted against us in choreographed synchronicity. For the first time after 1971 when the Soviets helped us with satellite imagery, another country, namely Israel, has helped us unconditionally in our time of need. The Chinese action in blocking the UN Resolution on Masood Azhar has to be seen in this light. Can Pakistan still prove to be a potent Chinese frontline weapon against India, now that India has crossed the Rubicon in terms of retaliation?

Incidentally, all of the information in this article is available on the internet and only requires the skill to join the dots.

Does this make any sense? Would like to hear from experienced people out here..
RISAT 2 capturing Heat signatures of terrorists sleeping in concrete dormitories from a height of 400 km... is quite a stretch

The article says TECSAR.. which has a 1 metre resolution... It's still a stretch..
ISRO has been collaborating with the Israelis in this sector since ages. So much so that they're capable of launching less than 1sq mtr resolution micro sats in 3-4 days intimation. It's all been already tested. Try asking Falcon for confirmation. Best of luck there.

Problem is same old.some of the people there want pakistan.i know you will deny it but they really want.they think that we can free your Kashmir using mujahadeen but this is not 47 and we understand this reality.at the same time, it's hard to stop militants.we have no communication with the people of valley so we have no idea who wants to attack you.that is bad situation.90 percent, it's feelings.it is all about emotions.

Some of your people also want to fly the Pak flag over Lal Qila. Such irrational people, thankfully are the not the people who wield power. Modi tried to reach out to Nawaz sharif and come to peaceful settlement on Kashmir. However every time he reached out, you responded with a Uri and Pathankot. If pakistan is earnest about peace and the well being of Kashmiris you can force the Hurriet leadership to come to the negotiating table without the precondition of Azaadi and trust me if the separatists drop the demand for Azaadi, Modi may even go ahead with restoring most of the autonomy....

Pm modi didn't even replied to imran Khan calls for peace.he asked three times.

There will be zero response for "talks" as long as you have Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar (all designated UN terrorists) out in the open and active and not handed over to India to face trial...and not do your due diligence internally for what cultivated them in first place (at your highest levels of power).

It's really that simple.

We now prefer to simply get things done at FATF. 10 billion loss each year (your own minister estimate) and we will keep pushing to get this figure as high as possible. You made your bed, you can sleep in it now.... no need to fake-talk and stay sleep deprived to fake-keep up with us...and we wont pay any heed to your sleep-talking either. Just get some good long rest and you can see if things are clearer to your military "elite" (with all their corrupt ill gotten wealth and land holdings) when you wake up.

It is better simply to create a completely intolerable economic situation inside Pakistan as quick as possible... so its people finally do the needful themselves against the rotten, treacherous and evil establishment. Only Eastern wing of Pakistan did it so far.

Kuch jyada hi ho gaya  while reading this I thought if some fiction writer is writing this and when I scrolled down I found even better, a TV Producer :ROFLMAO:

Does this make any sense?
Not much, but a nice script right there for a captivating movie.

I swear to god I saw the exact same discussion happening a few days back. It's like a merry go round. Or more like a Columbus jhoola , back and forth

Was that meant to be riposte? Came out rather pathetic. Been ignoring your rather pontified berating of forces sans logic, evidence & rationale. However, when you do post big words like mark this or that with a load of bullshit in it, time you were dealt with as have to be dealt with.

I am pretty bang on my assessment of what actions we will and will not take. If you can overcome your own inflated sense of self, you will be able to understand the sheer nonsense you write as an assessment.

You know jack about operations being run presently by Indian forces, yet have the bloody cheek to talk as if you are God given gift in tactical & strategic operations and Indian forces are fools.

You think you know better? Then pray, do tell me, your years of service. If you did not serve, learn, instead of spewing bullshit across forums my dear resident expert on RMAs.

I tend to agree with him. If you had shown stentorian personality and demanded Nuclear strike in feb itself, India would not be in a mess right now.
