Yeah I knew TBRL has rail sledge but do not know why it is used. Attached sow , 35 being made, 2 for testing so batches of 11 will be supplied.Something like this:

To study interception of high velocity( read supersonic) aerial targets on ground via a high speed rail track. Looks like we've this facility too. Nice![]()

Did not know it existed tbh. I don't think I have seen much reference of dual seeker together. One IIR seeker fabrication sow was there quite a while ago. Once all the useful seekers are realised by local industry maybe then?@marich01
Any idea if we're pursuing any dual-seeker missiles(both EO+RF) like the Israeli Stunner? I think future belongs to such missiles and we must start to develop one too.

Astra
I fails to see why they did not order more astra’s or even DAC request for more.
Are they waiting for current order of ~250 to deliver? Or waiting for mk2? They have 2000+ requirement.
IMO, just waiting for MK-2.Or waiting for mk2? They have 2000+ requirement
That is the thing which I hate most in the armed forces: Diversity in weapons. Just standardize some weapons instead of having 5 weapons for similar role.Given we have such variety of BVRaam stuff in inventory, won't you think similar diversity range wise will be there for Astra too? I mean mk1 being used on tejas jets & mk2 on su30 primarily?
Mk2 is not automatically better. It comes at the cost of being heavier.IMO, just waiting for MK-2.
MK-1 with limited run untill MK-2 comes and becomes standard BVRAAM of the fleet.
