This particular system I can not understand for what exact use, esp the term ASMD-I.
The SOW was posted recently 2 days ago. Its obviously fin separation & pyro cartridges related.
It has a particular drawing
which matches with a pic from an old published paper a bit, which I attached below.

I could not understand the specific missile though. This technique is used for store separation in airborne missiles, but what such thing does ASL make? not Agni. ASMD can be Anti ship missile defense ie protection against chinese anti ship ballistic missiles, which would need AD1 type system?

Not wholly related, but might be for STAR missile, i mean its the only ramjet project I know of unless they want a desi ramjet on Brahmos now , pic thanks to neutronx

BTW, That SSm pic above are the nosetip section & a control surface, fin thing. Not sure what it is though, someone said its same as the hstdv cruise vehicle tip. But the drawing says SSM.

DRDL tender so likely trial. Several months ago they posted upgrade work of astra facility, likely for storing the motors. Now the work to start, 8 months given for delivery.
So Astra 2 will still take some time to become fully operational? Hopefully by the end of next year or 2025.
Operational is still way off, depending on how serious IAF is about it.
Some interesting bits and I understand very little of it, kinda want to tell but sensitive stuff i guess.
Pakistanis have got PL-15E now, IAF must be very serious about Astra 2.
Absolutely, no sensitive stuff should be disclosed as our enemies are watching too.
