Indian Political Discussion

Out of 136 crore if few thousands are on street I consider this as negligible. Even if 10 Crore are on street I will still consider it just below 10% of people have problem.

You can't really change policies to appease 10% forget 1% when it comes to governance.

When the momentum builds, there will be no streets left for the waves that will come.

Which are building. The silent storm.

Some of you say the silent majority of Hindus are with this fascist regime.

I say that it's just the opposite.

We often lament about our typical apathy. Chalta hai attitude.

Many many firangs from some political hotspots around our world have told me that in fact that (adjustability, calm in the face of chaos) is our biggest strength.

It's why in spite of everything we remain politically and socially stable. No springs. No revolutions. No overthrows. No coups.

Modi-Shah are now stretching that legendary Hindu elastic band to break point.

Jai ho.

Jai ho.

Jai ho.

Cheers, Doc

This will pass too. These protests are as worthless as the people who are protesting. There is absolutely no skin in the game. Protest for the sake of it. Welcome to protest for instagram era.

No skin in the game?

Do you not find that patently unfair to the Indians on the street here?

They are having skulls spit open by lathis and iron bars, conjunctivae burned by tear gas because they love it ...

Not to mention those Indians who have lost their lives to bullets.

Cheers, Doc

Those are sad accidents in their mind set. Like people getting hurt on a joy ride. If they know that they will face bullets, they won't show up.

Compare this to the student protests in mandal time. They knew that their jobs are being stolen away from them, hence the level of desperation and readiness to burn oneself. Here, all those who are protesting have nothing on the line.

Economist and Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee on Monday urged the Narendra Modi government to establish “the truth of what happened” at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University on Sunday evening, when a mob of masked attackers assaulted several students and faculty members, News18 reported.
“I think any Indian who cares about the nation’s image in the world should worry,” Banerjee, a JNU alumnus, told the news website. “This has too many echoes of the years when Germany was moving towards Nazi rule.” Banerjee has criticised the Indian government’s economic policies in the past and prescribed ways to bring the economy back on track.

Oh well, anyone who wants to seriously comment on current situation, should stop comparison with hitler or Nazi Germany. BJP is no Nazi party and India is no Germany. Problem with this line of thought is that it short-circuits serious thought and brings forth a comic relief that sabotages argument.

Most of them are bengalis who allowed britishers to set up East India Company in WB and called Kolkata as second London. I blame Benglais for the downfall of India and division of the India as well. One guy from their community who wished to do something for India, had to flee India because his own bengali fellows were against him as they were communist and against Bose.

Bengalis get influenced by outsiders very easily. I consider this community as a Vibhishan community. Even in JNU most of these intellectuals are bengalis only.

Coming on the back of Sanjay Raut's strong statement, Uddhav ji has clearly stated that Maharashtra will remain free of any communal sanghi shenanigans.

Honestly boss, a large part of India is now sick of this toxicity.

The map in my dp has morphed further.

And in the months to come the viral clearance will only gain steam.

RSS mukt Bharat.

Horrific!

He is Sanoop, his left eye was punctured, both his legs were fractured, with multiple injuries on his body.

Why?

He dared, to file nomination & win the student union election, in a campus dominated by left, in Kerala.

None should justify violence. Why is JNU prone to violence ? Within 12 yrs of birth, JNU was forced closed for 46 days ( Nov 13 to Jan 3, 1981) .Police broke into hostel rooms & arrested belligerent students. Mrs. Gandhi was PM. Violence is central to Left. That’s the root cause. Rajdeep Sardesai on Twitter ( )

I won't even bother to argue about if and if not of NRC and CAA. Lets say their biggest fears are true. NRC will remove citizenship rights of ANY and EVERY Indian who cannot produce ANY document needed to prove citizenship. CAA will SIMPLY and IMMEDIATELY grant citizenship to ANY HINDU (Magically verified to be true Hindu). NO Muslims will be given ANY citizenship or even residence.

Right now, is there ANY identification document that can identify a person to be a Muslim?
OR
How hard it is to get a birth certificate from 1980s or before? Those are actually maintained by municipal corporation and the files are not even remotely reliable.
OR
How hard will it be to lie about Being-Hindu(TM) and from Pak/Afg/Ban?

India is a land of hacks and kaam-chalana types. How hard will it be for ANY one to get a document prepared? I have seen Aadhaar card of certain Gau-Mata.

Real people live in real world. Most of these people know for a fact that ANY one who is in India can never be practically removed from India. They are not worried about "Motherland". Not one single bit. This is something else. This is a social media inspired protest and every Non-Moslem wants a selfie to be in protest, to look liberal. For Moslems, it is nothing about NRC and CAA. It is about releasing a pent-up frustration of not being able to do anything for 370 and Ayodhya. Again to mostly boast in their social media feeds that, look pal, don't tread on me.

Thats all.

What was his baap then?

Please be respectful when addressing a Maratha and a Sainik ...

You are speaking of our leader.

Who was cremated with state honours. In the Indian tricolour.

Are you Indian or a Pski false flag?

I give a fug to liberals or to be called a liberal.

I take great pride in being a religious fundamentalist, a racialist and a radical in every definition of those words.

Doc, if you were in college during 90s, you are pretty mature and experienced. Do you really think "Uddhav ji" gives one single damn about controling Sanghi Shenanigans? If the current collation breaks in Maharashtra, do you think that the same Uddhav ji won't enter in another alliance with BJP?
Please don't say that you believe that Indian politicians have "principles".
Shiv Sena in alliance with INC. How much more power hungriness you want to see?

Yes @Milspec , it's the large majority of us. Nearly all. Save for some residual sanghi fanboys still sticking to their guns. Am sure you are not naive enough to believe that a Ratan Tata pompoming for Modi really means anything ...

Have you seen or heard of any other pro Hindutva Parsi voice in the open sphere. That's should tell you something about how the community mood has evolved socially and politically. Coz if there's one thing Parsis don't do, is keep quiet.

Cheers, Doc

I openly criticize Modi Government on poor economics and lack of discipline in bottom rung political cadre. But this entire minority under threat is something I am still trying to understand? You keep alluding to this fear, What exactly is the fear? Please elucidate.

Let's keep business houses out of this, their loyalties are to money and no one else. Remember Anil Ambani and Amar Singh? Dhirubhai and Rajiv? let's not forget who Radia was and how everyone from Bal Thackeray to Ananth Kumar to Ratan Tata has all run through the gambit.

As far as one community keeping quiet, Most of India remains quiet all the time.

take an example of the student protest right now, do you not see a particular type of campus involvement and the agenda behind it? Take an example of Pune, FTII students came out to protest, only FTII. not bharti, not COEP, not MIT, not Cummins, not DY Patil, not PICT, not VIT, not AIsSMS, not VIT. Just FTII. ever wondered why?

Good joke.

Dear Doc, sentiments are like waves. They don't last.

PS : Please don't get me wrong. I want a substitute for BJP too, for a very different reason. Simply because unipolar worlds are dangerous. But right now, I don't see one single viable subsitute. There can be pebbles but then pebbles are meant to be steamrolled.

Trust me I know.

Don't ask how or from whom. My links now extend to the NCP as well. Though I remain to the day I die a Sainik.

There is no coming back of the BJP in its current avatar into any grassroot level political alliance in Maharashtra.

They were always seen as bamman party.

Now they are seen as north Indian and even worse, Gujrati.

There's no coming back from there sir. Sorry.
