For all their false bravado , they're an extremely cowardly people - the Punjabi Musalman . This is 4+ yrs of experience of working with these specimens in the Gulf talking.

False bravado , ganging up on someone , when the realisation dawns they're up against it immediately back down & if pressurized break down & beg for forgiveness , conniving nature , cunning , etc - these are their traits.

Pasthuns & Balochis are better . Though they're mostly menials , what you see is what you get . Straightforward & hardworking. None of the traits which Punjabi Musalmans have . Probably the reason why both these groups despise each other .

Big question mark on these conspiracy theories is that did India take this provocative launch while hosting Australian defence head at the same test range on the very same day? I don't subscribe to such conspiracy theories being peddled by our countrymen. My understanding says that missile was part of military stock to be used for such offensives whenever opportunity presented, however somehow someone somewhere botched up in big way and missile launch got athorized. However as there was no go from political/military leadership, mid-course correction update might not have been given resulting in missile falling short of actual target, thus denying the terminal guidance seeker opportunity to kick in. Meanwhile contacts might have been made up to prevent retaliation and Pakistan acted in good faith? There are lots of if and buts in this incident as were there in search & rescue HELICOPTER shootdown in Sri Nagar. Obviously lots will be not be released in official finding report however those in know-how will get the max picture as was the case in heli shooting.

Lots of assumptions while ignoring the real world retaliation risks.

A statement from a famous Hollywood Russian Navy-US Navy Sub scene comes to my mind where Russian naval authority gives the go ahead to submerge the ship with few silos open to stop the fire incident. Real or reel, that statement fits nicely between Indian And Pakistani rivalry where once side plays with instincts while expecting the others to not necessarily follow the same.

Well it all turned out fine in the end the missile crashed in open space which is why Pakistani's didn't try to shoot it down.

Lets hope Pakistan doesn't have and oops of their own. ;)

Well , now is the time we miss the F-35 & it's E Virus like Stuxnet . We could've used it to jam the blessed missile before it crossed borders.

i agree with what has been posted by @Hellfire. Anyone who believes that a missile like Brahmos can be fired accidently has to be a moron of highest order. Just to bring it out of storage and erect it for launching requires very strong authentication codes from the topmost echelons of Govt. Its not a diwaliwala rocket, bottle me daala aur aag laga dee.

They do not need to "chori" anything. China operates a clone of Sunburn. Enough for them.

The biggest item in it to steal is a chip called G3MO which allows it to access three different positioning system including Gagan. If DRDO and MoD are wise, then they do not to do anything. At worst a new set of encryption codes to be issued. If MoD and DRDO have even basic knowledge of crypto, it would be less than thousand weapons re-programed. If they are idiots (which I expect them to be), then new satellites are needed :(.

Well, After I learnt that US nuclear missile codes were 00000 for more than several decades, I have stopped believing in SOPs etc. I do not know what is happening anymore. One of these days, Priyanka Gandhi's son will be bringing a Brahmos to impress his girlfriend for all I know...

I do find many extremely odd things in this incidences.

- No brahmos (conventionally armed) is without warhead.
- In theory, it should not be possible to launch the damned missile just like that.
- They do not do such kind of user trials on western border but on eastern side facing ocean.
- Why Pakistan is so mellow after a possibly tactical nuke carrying missile being fired at it?

Devil knows what happened.

There is a need for Air defense command we understood but still, we are unable to finalize the structure and in every field, there are underperformers (Gadhe), who don't know how to operate in complex scenarios and they exposed themselves when real-time situations arise, In case of full-time war you can hide these underperformers but in limited skirmish these guys exposed themselves and also we should welcome girls mainly on the technological front it will create a good competitive environment.
