Indian supersonic missile reached Mian Channu in Pakistan : ISPR

Either it is a s400 being deployed near the border or we fired a brahmos reminding them we are ready to escalations. Former seems more plausible , with the price of oil at its peak starting a war would be suicidal at the best.
May be course deviation during test firing due to corrupted GPS signal. It happened in past, infact first ever failed Brahmos test was due to GPS issues.
why would we use gps ? we would be using our own navic.

And how exactly does this help in doing that?
it is a warning, if pak military conducts a coup then we can say military is hostile and bang them.
You cannot engage Brahmos missile with AD system existing with Pakistan., simple. They didn't try to engage Mig25 too, some three decades back.
Depends, one ufo will not trigger a response but multiple will.

I assume this was a simulation training exercise (since there was no warhead) with way points set as the missile landed 30kms short of two military installations (airbase & cantt I believe) near Mian Channu but the launch was accidental and unintentional

We must've informed the pakistanis right away using backchannels and also letting them know of the missile being unarmed which is why ISPR didn't make a fuss outta it and only asked the Indian side to explain. It was a mature act from both sides given how we owned up to it.

Also, ADs aren't usually active during peace time or they'd only cover critical military installations and it's extremely hard to take down an incoming missile traveling at Mach-3. I'm pretty sure we didn't have an AD system during it's flight path over our airspace nor did the pakistanis. Even if one of us did, by the time a decision is taken to bring it down...the missile would've already traveled beyond the AD's range

Booster is intact, mostly an accidental firing. And Pakistan just got everything they want. Launch location, our target location so that they can reinforce AD and finally something from wreck too.
Booster isn't a sensitive tech if you know anything about missiles...Pakistanis/chinese have tech to replicate a potent booster. It's really the ramjet, seeker and guidance systems which make a difference. The ramjet is extremely hard to replicate similar to an engine, particularly the materials which is why chinese still couldn't make a decent engine despite data theft from the yanks and trying to reverse engineer russian platforms

As for seeker and guidance systems, they're highly fragile and will get damaged/destroyed even with the slightest impact with hardly anything left to gain from. Majority of the missile seems to be completely damaged...there is a possibility to reverse engineer if the missile was anything close to what they got from Abhinandan's mig-21

In regards to the launch and target locations, that can always be changed

Somebody tweeted in morning that by seeing the Russian equipments perfomance, there is no surprise in self destruct mechanism failure too.
Most of Russian components on the Brahmos have been replaced with Indian ones. Except for the ramjet...booster, seeker, airframe, onboard electronics etc are all Indian

Indian Air defense should be on high alert because they may do the same to prove that Indian air defense also fails in a similar scenario.
When our Mirage 2Ks dropped Spice bombs during Balakot, every noob knew pak would retaliate given the pressure they faced from their public. They were able to send a strike package of 24 fighter jets while we only had 8 jets doing CAP and god knows what our ADs were doing...let alone the friendly fire debacle of Mi17-Spyder

If we weren't alert during such heightened tensions, I doubt we will now

Just a conspiracy theory....

Someone got someone to fire a Brahmos with a tactical nuclear warhead towards Pakistan.
That happened... though, the missile either got intercepted by HQ-9 OR lacked proper arming codes in the warhead to detonate. This is why you have no warhead.

Indian diplomacy called Pakistan and told the entire mega-cluster-*censored* and agreed to some kind of compromise.

Pakistan covered-up entire incidence. (Evidence : The delay in communications and reactions).

Now Pakistan either has an Indian tactical nuke or that nuke is missing or more likely broken in thousand pieces... Sometimes in future, people will see more cancer incidences in that area due to all the nuclear fuel spread around there.

Or the warhead was such that it will not detonate unless it is armed....

If it was a Brahmos - its EXTREMELY unlikely this was a mistake.
Guidance could change

It seems to be a test vehicle with no warhead. Most probably used for testing. It's not that big a deal. The Pakistanis would have been informed most probably..
It's also interesting that it went 334 km in total way over the stated range of brahmos

It's extremely hard for something like HQ-9 or even S-400 to intercept and take down a supersonic missile traveling at Mach-3 that too during peacetime

If that was really the case and assuming pak had an AD in that area...we should also be having one and used it to bring down our own missile before entering their airspace
Or the warhead was such that it will not detonate unless it is armed....
Doesn't make sense...a tactical missile will have some sorta launch sequence which should automatically arm the warhead as well. Having multiple independent steps will only delay response time during wartime

Most likely a test simulation without a warhead with pre-set waypoints fired accidently or launcher malfunction

Some Pakistanis on pdf are claiming it to be a HGV

This is somewhat similar to the Russian threat to Zelenski of Ukraine, that if Ukraine moves ahead with its plan to join NATO, Russia will send Ukraine back to Stone age and Ukraine will keep blinking its eyes. We are seeing it happen in the past two weeks.

To me, this firing of a warhead bereft missile by India on Pakistan is to convey a very strong message to the enemy based on some Intelligence report that India acquired on an impending covert subversion or a terrorist attack of a massive scale in the very near future in India. Or the GoI must be waiting for the Elections to be over to threaten Pakistan for them having conducted a large scale subversion activity in the recent past, and that they may have been caught red handed which without any doubt proves their involvement.

India did not want this time to either provide a proof like they did by inviting them onsite in Pathankot case or take them to the Useless Nations Organization UN, or conduct messaging through allies (which are only designed to provoke into a conflict but dump when in need). Looking at how the West left dumped Ukraine when in crisis, this time, India has resolved to act independently. (Atmanirbhar in action about Action)

India further strengthens its warning by deceiving Pakistan that we at our will can make you to put in all your resources pointing towards Karachi, but in a flip of a second you will find the missile penetrating the pichhwada of your resources.

There is also a possibility of India gathering intelligence of an impending war with China where China may have planned and provoked Pakistan to act on the western border. Pakistan may have rolled up its sleeves. In order to warn Pakistan to stay away for its own good, India chose a precise target close to its taller than Himalayan friendship buddy China - the Mian "Channo" site (a la satire)

This spring, I hope some very bold actions and legislation by the GoI internal to India as well as some fireworks in N & NW borders.

I speculate its part of routine X-tests (might as well use up older brahmos as they approach expiry).

Carry an ELINT package (with relevant comms and maybe even own airborne bird further back)...given the specific wargaming needed for this system vis vis penaids and such....a routine intel heads up on when they will be needed. What better way than to do it on the system (with its speed and RCS) itself.

That's only reason to be testing in this area hugging the border IMO.

This time the last few minutes had a glitch and it landed and (prob safety fuse) destructed on the other side.
