Btw, AESA, SDR and ECM are part of Mk1A. They are not necessary for FOC.

AESA, All Glass cockpit, SDR ( Rockwell collins ARC-210 RT-2036(C)), BVR -AIM 120D, AIM120C5, WVR- AIM7, AIM9X, Fly By Wire, Unstable design, PGM, AShm, Ground Mapping radar, Terrain hugging capability, CM, Nuclear Delivery, Pretty much everything you mention, all on a proven platform and on offer to IAF with local production by Lockheed Martin.
Similar package available on SAAB JAS39 Gripen in single engine flavor;
And then there is always F/A 18 SH, Rafale, EFT, and Mig35OVT in twin engine flavors offering similar packages.

Confirms earlier reports from that excercise quoted unnamed IAF officials and LCAs strike performance too.

Without the DARIN III upgrade, LCA's accuracy will obviously be better than the older Jaguars.

GE 414 has some 25 percent more power than GE 404
Whereas MK 2 has to carry 60 percent more load and more internal fuel than MK 1
Without Two engines , MK 2 will be a failure
The current Mk1 sucks. The Mk1 should have been able to lift at least 5T if the airframe was decent enough. The wings are not as strong, there's still ballast in the aircraft and the landing gear has been over-engineered.
So if you are using the Mk1 as a benchmark to estimate Mk2's payload, then you will go wrong.
Mk1 has an MTOW of 13.5T. Mk2 is being designed for more than 17T.
So we are now comparing LCA with jet of 70s, which is under powered and is hardly considered as fighter jet.
C'mon jaguars is not the right jet to compare with LCA. Compare LCA's accuracy with that of Mirages and Mig29s, they are its real competitors in terms of weapon delivery at least.
The comparison is actually not wrong, Jag and LCA IOC are single role strike fighters, with similar weapon load capability.
A Darin 3 Jag will even have AESA, HMS, glass cockpit and so on.
The Mk2's new goal is to match M-2000 in performance parameters. This includes a payload of 6.5T.
"New Goal" that just scares the living daylights out of me when it concerns indigenous platforms. I hope that doesn't change to Su30-MKI parameters.
It helped kill the F-16/Gripen requirement and shift the focus to Rafale again through MMRCA 2.0.

Even that was on the cards, a twin engine LCA to match Rafale/MKI, but sense prevailed and AMCA is the direct result.
