Line of Actual Control (LAC) : India & Tibet Border Updates

Our government, and let me tell this out loud...including Modi is incapable of taking the steps required to safeguard Indian interests in the strategic space. He is a good administrator. Nothing more. Do not expect any grand vision for India, besides talking about structural reforms in administration and bureaucracy.

Now yea, let the brick bats start for calling Modi incapable of taking action to forward our strategic requirements.

Chini 'bhai bhai' saying they will 'talk'.

How long will it take for us to understand that they are buying time?

Also, current MEA press conference -

"Peace, tranquility, ...... " and at the end,

"We will protect our territorial sovereignty"

Not answering taking hard & direct questions.

SU-30s & Mig-29s to be added to IAF fleet.
This was in the plan all along, they are now just allotting money and calling it an "emergency" purchase. BJP is committing a grave mistake of focusing too much on media management, they are unable to differentiate between matters of National Security and domestic politics.

The govt knows the Chinese are buying time. We will know when the govt announces something.

Rahul tried political point scoring.

Jaishankar gave political answer, cleverly avoiding the uncomfortable and important part. Rest media will do.

We have already killed 40-50 some go as high as few undreds in media and social media.

Exact repeat of Balakot. Fanboys and media took it upon themselves to fool the nation with 300 terrorists killed, even when open source data shows zilch to any such thing.

Next day when Su30 was fired upon multiple time and we were told due to ROE they did not fire.

What happened afterwards was media victory and another Vehicle was blown apart after few in Pulwama with IED luckily it was Casper and people only got injured. Since then multiple such incident have been averted or executed unsuccessfully.

Here too media has eased the public by claiming bigger figures to ease up government and brush death of these soldiers under the carpet.

This is called being wise with the benefit of hindsight.

There's a difference between a scuffle / skirmish where two patrol parties suddenly accost each other where they weren't expecting to do so & a party which has gone to verify whether the other side has kept up with it's commitments arrived at earlier.

Agreed. But if you've noticed, Modi never initiates, he reacts .That's his style & that's his strong point. Moreover, this particular situation at the LAC has been an inherited one & that too in not much of a good state. We can argue over whether he could have made good on our deficiencies on the LAC, diplomacy with China, modernisation & reorganization of the Indian Armed Forces, infrastructure development along the border areas etc which as it stands today is a mixed bag.

However, what cannot be justified is the lingering fear within the Indian establishment that the Chinese were always playing for time & that once they were confident of their abilities plus our lack of it for whatever reason, they would go in for the kill & our gameplan to counter it if there was any beyond the tactical. This was also expected to happen in the 2020's given that we're moving in to close that capability gap.

I personally don't think this administration derived the right lessons from Doklam or from the overview posted immediately above. That's been a huge miscalculation & blunder on their part.

So let me get this straight. They watched their peers getting lynched to death but they didn't use it because of some agreement made ?
No, soldiers respected the accord reached & implemented by civilians and understood its importance even when they knew, their lives were going to be sacrificed. Sometimes spilling of blood not only gives period of peace but also a progressive revolution. Is it that what happened recently? Will there be further action and blood spilling happening for our aim? Only future will tell. I believe, most of the time, we wish to be a power who is well recognised and can protect its borders and subjects. Here in India, one soldier killed in action, everybody cowers for dialogue & bla bla bla. We haven't got what it takes to spill the blood and reach our aim. We abandon the struggle midway at the hat of troubles, I ask why? Same happened in 1947, 62, 65, 71, 99, 2019. Will it happen again this time now as well in 2020? Everytime when our blood boils at some incident, we redirect our anger on breaking objects, burning effigies, denouncing the attackers but we never declare those attacking countries as enemy of state by law permanently. We redirect our anger on our internal political parties, army, police forces but never on ourselves. That has never worked in past nor it will work in foreseeable future. Most of people don't really know what are we exactly fighting for and for whom, what are the costs which will be exacted once we enter the war, hence as soon as the first bad news hits "breaking news", it's rinse and repeat action once again.

I hope we overtly go into the American camp , enough of this strategic autonomy bullshit. Even the Russians are staying out.
Americans wont intefere unless we guarantee them support in their issues. Fair enough.
This monkey balancing act whips us from all sides. Pakistan has a better and a trustable ally in China , we have whom? No one.
I would love to have one true friend rather many "could" be friends

There is nothing emergency about it. The contract for 21 Migs and 12 Su-30 MKIs were supposed to be signed this year.

Are these Su-30s to be made in India as accident replacemets?
The MiG-29s are the probably the ones that came out of storage and were supposed to be sold to India after the UPG upgrade.

Out there on BRF there's speculation that after the first round on June 15th where we lost the CO & 2 jawans to the bludgeoning which in turn may have been precipitated by IA action of burning PLA tents & other material earlier for not withdrawing from the area as previously agreed upon thus being in non compliance of the agreement arrived upon by the respective commanders , in addition to the retaliation from the rest of the company, IA also dispatched other columns where the PLA wasn't in strength & gave them a dose of their own medicine.

Apparently that's what accounts for more casualties on their side over ours. As per the post this can be corroborated by repeated statements by the Chinese to peacefully resolve the issue & to respect the LAC by not transgressing into each other's territory.

Of course all this is speculation & need be taken with a pinch of salt but to those who lay stock on various media reports itself based on unconfirmed sources of PLA losing anyway between 30 - 43 personnel, this is the purported explanation.

If the MoD finally managed to scrape some finances please sign the MK1A contract first. Then if still some bucks are left, then some more Su30MKI.

And if yet more money is left then for God's sake order 3-4 more AEWCS , 3-4 2nd hand Il78 tankers for EAC.

Not posst with Russia without more money.

Maybe for political support
