Line of Actual Control (LAC) : India & Tibet Border Updates

Vietnam has more balls than us , they bloodied PLA in 79
vietnam had more balls than the previous dispensation that kept silent when salami slicing was happening. this one is quite the opposite. they want the salami slicing - it helps in showcasing and galvanizing the masses to their nationalist ideology. we got a tale of two opposites.

After yesterday's marathon discussion, nothing yet official about the conclusion.
Some unofficial channels stated that the results were inconclusive. India wants China to go back to status quo ante May 2 and anything less is not acceptable.
Is there really any more to discuss if things couldn't get solved by an 11-hour discussion?

There wasn't anything to discuss for a long time. Still the discussions have been going on. So it seems until there is a full blown armed conflict, both sides will continue to talk. However, imo, it's important to take the Chinese promises with a pinch of salt unless their are actions are in line with their words.

Global Times is getting hilarious. This has to be the funniest propaganda I have ever seen.

Unlike democratic governments, they aren't used to public rage and raking over the coals lmao.

They've gone bonkers now with Indians bombing their website/portals.

Lets face it. India was hounded by UN EVERY damn time we asked for their intervention. Till '71 happened and then no new resolution was passed on Kashmir.

About time we escalate conflict and then ask for UN intervention. Pakistan plays the same game against us. We can do the same against China. Launch a sudden attack with full freocity, push them back in as many places as possible and then allude to nuclear bombs. UN will intervene.

Word going in from BR forum is that action may start next week. We might be facing two front war.

Assuming the main focus of both our neighbor's will be the capture of Siachin, Galwan valley and probably block the DBO road.

UN will do nothing. UN must not get involved. It's because India will follow UN rules, while Pakistan and China will not.

UN is a toothless organisation when it comes to great and superpowers. They can only intervene when tiny countries are fighting.

UN intervention is more diplomatic in nature. It gives legitimacy to status quo that all. The real stopping point will be combined threat of India nuclear escalation and possible US involvement.

Remember, China has much more to lose in escalation simply because they have more. If China suffer a strategic setback then they have nothing left to catch up to the west.

Memebers, please remember my earlier post about an allout battle with PLA. They will have to vacate all these areas if they want their soldiers to be secure and put up anykind of fight. These positions are good only for no combat situation. Forget about F4 even Sirijap can't be defended by PLA if we go into offensive mode. You guys have heard about deployment of Mountain strike corps but what you have missed is the deployment of Special Operations Command. Kahani bahut hee alag hai bhaiyo.
But in lighter vein, I will not be able to ask my wife ever again-Golgappey khaogi kya? Thanks to Rajput Regiment for giving it a very different meaning.

Can you explain this area map in winter? Is it possible to have such heavy presence in winter especially at the peaks by Chenes.

It's like the monkeys, rabbit and cake story. If the UN intervenes, they will set it up in such a way, at US and Russia's behest, that we will never solve the border issues forever. Just like they did with J&K, when legally the entire region belonged to India in the first place.

The UN can't do anything here.

The point is not resolution but stopping of further capture. LoC for all its issues is better than LAC because its a recognized status quo. A delineated LAC will give us legitimacy in any future conflict and will avoid salami slicing even if more dovish government takes over in India. You know our biggest issue? China can claim ALL the parts till punjab and haryana heck till kerala or even beyond. As stupid and as unbelievable it sound, there is nothing that stops them because there is no point of reference.

In 1950s they refused to even provide maps about what areas they claim. Why? because they want to perpetually push the bargain in their favour. Keep on doing it and you will be fighting for saving Kerala one day.

We have to bring them on negotiation table. Push their hand to show their claim and force a LAC on them. Right now, there is NO legit LAC. India never provided one and Chinese kept it fluid.

good move if thats the case, but I doubt it will happen. We need to wait for winter.
In case if we do fight we need capture territory or force them to accept a LOC which will be witnessed by the world. That will put an end to their creepy salami tactics.

Once we start our own salami slicing
China will be forced to accept a written Boundary , border or LAC
