Pakistan is an emotional question for India. The west knows it quite well. We will happily ignore China if we can hit back at Pakistan.

They need us to fight China. They also need Pakistan to exist for the following reasons

1. It gives the West leverage over India. We'd be fools to think otherwise.
2. Iraq has changed Western opinions about destroying existing regime structures. With Pakistan being a nuke holder the fears are amplified.

India will find ZERO support to dismember Pakistan.

Do you know how a tank is designed and how priorities are decided regarding, crew protection, survivability, armour strength, weight and fire power? T-72 is better than the Chinese junk in every manner. Try and recollect the very old debate about heavy cavalry, medium cavalry and light cavalry. You will get your answer. In the battle between Alexander and Porus, heavy cavalry with hard hitting Indian Long Bows had tilted the scales against light and medium cavalry of mecedonians.

The Type 15 is lighter, has more poweful engines, has lower ground pressure, better armour and superior firepower compared to the T-72. There's basically nothing on the T-72 that's superior to the Type 15.

One can say 105mm is inferior to 125mm. But what's the point in saying that if the 105mm can penetrate more RHA than the 125mm gun? Plus the Chinese gun is good up to 5+Km and can fire a 6Km range ATGM. Plus it has hydropneumatic suspension, so the gun elevation is at least two or three times more than the T-72. And then the gun is rifled, perfect for dealing with India's static infantry positions using HESH. You can also be sure that the shells made for the tank are aerodynamically more suitable for mountain terrain than our shells.

The Type 15 clearly has more armour than the T-72. The armour LOS is clearly bigger. There's also an APS designed specifically for the tank, although its maturity and capability can be questioned, you can be sure it will end up on the tank sooner or later.

The T-72 is completely outclassed here.

Bangladesh is now using its export variant as an MBT. It's being advertised as a light tank, but there's nothing light about it in our environment. That's the reason why I recommended going for the Type 10 from Japan.

Any source? How do you know its range then if it is "something new"?

'Cause the range is public. It's pretty normal to have missiles do 4-8Km. Even handheld ATGMs do at least 2.5Km. Up to 4Km for more advanced ones.

The most modern missiles even manage 20Km.

Ground launched anti-tank or air launched anti tank missiles? I think ground launched ones are more in range of 8 KM. BTW, I still don't know where you saw that Type 15 has a ATGM capability. Given that the scarce information on it, I doubt both 6 KM ATGM or can do 5 KM. Actually 5 KM with what kind of round? From what I heard, their APFSDS on Type-15 are effective till range of 2KM for a 500 mm steel armour. Not exactly very impressive even against T72 of Indian army.

Hain??? According to my knowledge Indian cavalry has always been inferior to foreign cavalries as foreign horses especially of middle East were much more superior than Indian horses both in speed and strength. Only notable exception being the cavalry of Maurya Dynasty as Chankya imported a large number of high quality horses from Middle east. Indian forces were always renowned for their use of elephants in the battle against which any cavalry was useless.

Also the Imperial House troops during the Mughal Era (before they went to shit) - the Mughals had a court office just for procuring horses from the far lands of Central Asia.

Edit - @nair - please move the horse discussion to an appropriate thread.
