Line of Actual Control (LAC) : India & Tibet Border Updates

Where is this information coming from?
I don't know.
a> Why would a soldier be working with R&AW?
I unit of SFF namely Vikas works directly under RAW. Same like CIA SAD.

b> Even if that be the case, the fact that he worked for R&AW is revealed but is CoD cannot be revealed?
Officially it is not revealed that he was working for the R&AW. And since ops of R&AW are not revealed hence his CoD won't be revealed too.

Jammu defenses as on date are far far stronger than what they were in 1965 and 1971. Pakistan dare not attempt anything in that area. Infect they are now worried about sialkot sector due to the offensive power we have in Jammu-Akhnoor area.

They should be able to match or exceed our strength based on what they want done. For example, we may have a RAPIDs there, but those are mainly composed of upgraded T-72s, whereas the Pakistanis can send in better tanks under the I Corps. They have us qualitatively and quantitatively beat then. It's really all about what China wants Pakistan to do, considering what @Falcon said about the Chinese interest in poking holes in the Sugar Sector. That's 2 or even 3 important roads under threat by both armies.

From what I understand there has been casualties on both sides. We had 1-2 & Chinese had more. There was 25-30 Chinese POWs too, which have been returned. GoI hasn't claimed any of that, presumably to give a China a chance to de-escalate. But de-escalating would mean the peaks that were captured would remain with the Indians. A fait-accompli so to speak. It would also mean whatever gains the Chinese have made earlier this year would be essentially nullified as the peaks overlooks all of that and more. Operators on these peaks can open fire directly with ATGMs, Snipers, MANPADS etc. They can also direct artillery shells right on target with laser marking. All this combined with Apaches flying around with Hellfires soon to be joined by LCH. Not looking good for those Chinese light tanks. That's why the Chinese are pissed, months of their work un-done in one night. Not to mention loss of face.

Curiously the Chinese govt. spokesperson also claimed India had no casualty. Revealing casualty put pressure on GoI for further action, so maybe the Chinese want to give room to de-escalate. Or maybe we used the POWs as bargaining chip. I betting on the later.

The Tibetan origin member who died is probably a member of the SFF working under Indian intel agency R&AW. He was definitely a part of that mission that night. Of course in India censorship is meaningless. We are no China & we do have a free media. Thus news of his death will get out, only a matter of time. Part of me thinks its good, we should know our heroes.

One important and a very under appreciated aspect is the control on information under Modi/Doval. We are knowing incidents only days after it has happened . Ater all........... when you reduce the access of lutyens journos to this level your job is half done .

The IA is obviously taking the least troublesome option i.e - capture portions of real estate like the Chinese did before for a possible trade off later to restore status quo ante. I don't think there have been any casualties or gun battles on our side( our side reported a few mishaps) or the Chinese side due to it else the IA would've confirmed it by now at least as far as ours go .

Nor would I take the news we took Chinese PoWs seriously. Prima facie this appears to be a case of lulling the other into a state of complacency before moving in & occupying those pieces of real estate unlike dislodging the other side from a entrenched position. The latter in the light of what's happened at Galwan valley would definitely see an escalation into a firefight with attendant casualties.

Sum Ting Wong?

He reportedly died while stepping on a landmine. He is from special frontier force( consists of mostly Tibetans), so probably was involved in the operation.

Anonymous and random, could you please take your argument to a room. Totally spoiling this thread.
Chinese phone manufacturers have a 70 % control on our mobile market with a few assembling in India.
If the government really wants to hurt them , give them a fortnight to shift their manufacturing facilities to India or ask them to compensate the workers for 6 months and f..k off.
That makes a statement, not pubg and a few apps.
Our dependence is on medical api we import , 60 % or so , from them. Their are options available, more expensive ones , but available .

A small look at what IA has done. The lessons learnt from Siachin have been very well applied in the present situation. Instead of going for spurs called fingers in PT area, we went in for the ridgelines like we did in saltoro range. Dominating the ridgeline, allows us to dominate each and every spur emanating from that ridgeline and allows us to rapidly move our forces from one spur to another while maintaining the height. This allows us to dominate all spurs at the sametime. PLA thought that we will try to dislodge them from the F4 spur, but we moved in from north and have occupied the ridgeline from which these spurs originate from. We are now dominating the area upto sirijap.

In the map above I have shown the ridgelines being occupied/dominated by India and likely future movement of IA. Next place of importance is the Kongka la. If we can break out from there and reach in between Galwan garrison and kongka la garrison, we will be able to decimate both the divisions of PLA deployed in the Aksai Hind area with hardly any PLA soldier being able to get out alive.
It was the practice of British to define borders along ridgelines, middle of valleys and middle of rivers. Chinese were busy occupying ground and we occupied the ridgelines.

Don't worry, I am done with that.

Yeah, I agree with that what you said about trade. We need to take stronger measures, but we need to create alternatives as well, and that takes time. But I think we are headed there.

In the map posted by me, you can see that F1 to F5 are part of different ridgeline while F6 to F8 are part of different ridgeline. PLA has made bunkers on the F4 spur and are maintaining a big base on the flat ground around F6. In one swift move, we have cut off F4, F5 and threatened everything along the north bank of PT. We have managed to separate the fingers into two different killing zones.
