I want to tell few thing, may be a wrong analysis.
Presently even without going MAD chinese can unleash the havoc on indian side by utilising military stations from Tibet ( its technically a part of china now but definitely tibet & mainland china are different ) They can fire rocket artillery, long range cruise missiles toward indian cities like Delhi & Kolkata. A bomber with mid air refueling over the safety of Tibet cannreach Deihi. Imagine the moral & Economic impacts we are losing for such action.
But our military response will be limited inside Tibet only, we can't scratch chinese cities like shanghai or beijing without usage of our A5( any use of A5 will be interpreted as Nuclear attack and they will respond with a nuclear ). We don't have any long range cruise missiles, i know that Nirbhay is classified as long range missile but i didn't think that it can cover beyond 600-750 km. We seriously consider in developing or purchasing or even by steal the tech of a missile like Tomahawk or russian Kalibre,IAF must getrid of its phobia on long range bombes. We need to develop a bomber or we should purchase a bomber from the market.
You cannot deter chinese in conventional warfare with out reach her economic epicenter like shanghai.

China need to acclimatize their soldiers this statement could very well be to gain time. I think we should wait a little, these things don't get solve overnight and don't read too much into Trumps tweets, we don't need him to become mediator or party. If he can help well and good, he won't be a judge, it's not a position we should give to any country.
It may or may not, but SOP for US & Russians in the event any IRBM/ICBM in anger ( even before it reaches the destination or before exploding the warhead )is counter launching of Nuclear tipped missile towards the opponent. I think that will be the sop for chinese, india & pakistan too. So we cannot launch A5 withh conventional warhead towards china, it doesn't bring any advantages since cost of A5 doesn't justify the mere 2 tonn payload release & the risk of a immense nuclear retaliation, exposing your launch site, loosing a strategic weapon.
