Off-Topic Chit-Chat

once a Political Decision is made on say Day 1

This is more like Day Never. The current political establishment, BJP/Congress/whoever, is more interested in PR than any actual front.

If we go to war, what is the strategic objective? Teach Pakistan a lesson? Naive.

Now, let us assume we do go to war, what will be our end goal? This is more important. But again all this is reactive in nature. We wait and assume we will take action based on an event in the horizon.

On the other hand, can we create a situation to force the opponent to act in a manner of our liking. And then launch the attack. Unfortunately, I do not think this exists in our strategic mindset. If the question is of 'when' and not 'if', then it is imperative that we define the 'when'.

If you go by general ticket, next day you will have a dust allergy, fever and body ache. Better idea, be nice and suck up to @Hellfire and get a defence pass or ticket to use their gate.
What's the alternative? Btw - is there no concept of advance booking? Are all bookings for general visitors done on the spot? What about out of station general visitors? What if they land up with out advance booking and don't secure a ticket on the said day?

Advance booking, current booking all same. The rush is MAD. Don't even bother getting your gf along if she is not interested in planes. You will hear about it for the rest of the year. Wife safer bet, she is stuck with you.

You will definitely get a ticket. But let me explain. 1 hour to get the ticket after standing in the hot sun. The approach road to Yelahanka, which normally takes 45 minutes will take you 3 hours. Then you stand in a line to get to a bus. Then the bus drops you in a location from where you walk 500-750 mts to the security check. Then you clear it and get it.

Best idea, get a pass from somebody in the defence. Beg, borrow, steal. They have a separate entrance. No queues. Only issue will be getting to the place. My suggestion, get in EARLY and beat the traffic.

Thanks for the detailed info. Really appreciated.

Also, let us be really realistic. Can anyone tell me, a divides Pakistan - how do we address the rabid mullahs then? Pragmatic suggestions?

"Pakistan : A problem that is best kept alive" is a long term bad Idea for us. There is much debate over the matter, in the much more official discussions as well. It has been for well over decades. And you expect to crowd source as possible end game from an amateur Defense Enthusiast forum ?

Well, Lets see into a possible scenario. Listing out the Present Problems for that.

Status Quo Scenario :
  • As Christine fair states, Pakistan is an Ideological state, much like USSR, but with differences. Its opposition to India is not merely because of the kind of economics/Governance Model/politics/blah-blah-blah, But the ultimate culmination of political-religious flavors of which have been there in India since the pre-sultanate period.
  • A state whose establishment is rational in most of its functions, except when it comes to India. It has given its people religious reson to oppose India as if sanctioned by God himelf, that is huge motivation for its masses, which is not the case with political idelogy, where such an argument would have found diffuct buyers, when bring in religion it has sold as hot Cake. They seem to go stray from rationality when dealing with India, as an atheist strays from the path of God. Hallelujah.
  • Given the above Pakistan's establishment will do anything to "resist" India. Even subvert the notion of its own Sovereignty as long as that power is willing to resist India or willing to help Pakistan resist India. effectively it is an Anti India Hench-man(State) for Hire.
  • We already have long and *disputed* un-demarcated boundary with China. By prolonging Pakistan we will have China and Pakistan on side and China on the other. which is as obvious as daylight. China literally has an expendable state/establishment which has no issues on going Kamikaze when it comes to India and China faces no direct repercussions to its manpower or territory should its front state goes on any adventurism.
  • Fast-forward 30 years, Pakistan will be more in the grip of Chinese Debt and Chinese subversion. Its present financial woes not withstanding China will keep a Frankenstein alive even by using duct tape, if it has to.
  • So essentially we will end up in a perpetual Vice-grip, of Sino-Pak Combo. which will be an additional cost along with our increased Global Presence scenario, which like it or not we will head into simply by the virtue of existing as the 3rd biggest economy and most populous state on the planet. We will need to access resources and secure our interests not just in the Neighborhood.
  • We will bear costs, no matter what.
Solution's of a divided Pakistan :
  • There is a one according to my opinion but that doesn't need an out right military intervention, but it will need some.
  • Something on the lines of Bangladesh formation and then like Sykes–Picot Agreement (perhaps even a much worse draft).
  • I have something very specific in Mind but it would take a about a decade to implement, provided the Indian Establishment is in for it in the long haul.

I am impressed.

And tidbit please :)

Tidbit vs. titbit – Correct Spelling – Grammarist
In American and Canadian English, tidbit is the preferred spelling of the noun referring to (1) a choice morsel or (2) a pleasing bit of something.Titbit is preferred everywhere else. Neither spelling is right or wrong.

I am trying to stay as British as I can be on the internet, while everywhere else I use American or British depending on who I'm interacting with in writing. Improves my English and keeps me a bit sharper.

Ask questions, will answer :)

It's difficult considering I don't know if I'm gonna cross the line here.

Can the deployment be moved up even faster than 4 days? If not, what's slowing down the deployment.

Even if XXI Corps is miles away, at least the II Corps is right next door. One can assume II Corps can move in just as swiftly as the Pivot Corps. Or do you actually have to wait for all 3 corps to fully deploy first?

Warning Order out by 2200 hours ----> First Crossover will take place not later than 2100 hours of Day 2

I am even more impressed.

So, assume that once a Political Decision is made on say Day 1 in evening by 2100 hours ----> Warning Order out by 2200 hours

Is it possible for the air force to step in before the army is fully deployed, say at 2300 hours on Day 1?

Because of your loghorrea (whatever that is). ;)

Haha. Excuses abound on that forum. Ever since I murdered his precious JF-17, he's been very angry at me and giving me the silent treatment. Since then I've tickled his imagination and he's been coming up with the juiciest words to describe me. He's a victim of their own propaganda, so anything that goes against the established fables of that forum have to be automatically ostracised and discarded.

He still believes that the Indian BMD will not work because the transit time is too small.

Anyways, there is a very interesting thread on their increasing nuclear complex. Deadly accurate. Wish I could comment on it, but can not.

Will look into it.

I wish I could come to aero india ,
But now I am also like a target in the cross hairs of fate .
Hopefully will settle down and achieve something before meeting everyone in Aero India.

Same old, same old. Create a Shia-Sunni divide by giving the Shias more power than they had before. Create a Sunni-Sunni divide between the rabids and moderates. Keep the Ahmadiyas marginalised in order to keep the Shias and Sunnis continue to focus on each other. Control information flow inside mosques and madrassas. Cut off the internet so that they get information only from controlled sources. Marginalise the rabids and openly celebrate the moderates, like what Modi did at the Sufi Forum. It's not like there are people in Pakistan who just want to get on with their lives without all the drama.

Bring in moderate mullahs from foreign shores for their respective communities, like known moderate Shias and Sufis from India, Malaysia etc, who can teach them the correct way to interpret religious texts. It would be good if moderate Pakistani mullahs get a lot of air time, even their own channels, broadcast 24/7 on TVs and radios.

Keep negative news flowing about everything the Pak Army had done the past 70 years, like how they sold out to the Americans and then the Chinese, how it affected the economy in Pakistan and marginalised significant sections of the population. Tell the people how better off they would have been without all the focus on defence and fighting a losing war.

Ok members

Who all are planning to come to Aero India?

I am, as of right now, barring last minute changes, coming. Provided I can get tickets.

I am in Bangalore, so am in. My better half is going to avoid it. Last year, she got fed up on what is so exciting about planes and wings.

You may ask. I may not be able to answer. But LeGenD was accurately trying to drive in sense to the people.
Yes. That guy is something. Much more knowledgable & sensible than the so called TTA's they have there. The thread about space surveillance by him was very insightful.

My questions are the same as before -

What in our estimate is the no of warheads that Pak possesses in an ascending order for the yields from min to max?

What is the quantum of FM they possess?

What is their annual production of Pu ( assuming they have mastered the art of reprocessing) & HEU?

What are the no of delivery systems they possess in terms of CM & BM?

Is Ababeel a MaRV or MIRV capable missile & have they depoyed it? If yes, what're the nos we are looking at?

Finally, since " extraction " Of their Nukes seem less possible by the day, what's our contigency plan to deal with them, if push comes to shove? Will we go it alone? Can we accomplish it alone? Or is it going to be a coalition of the willing with the US & other like minded allies?
