There has almost never been any year when you spent less fraction of your economic as defence budget as compared to India. The kicker? Indian defence spending has a downward trend in last 10 years, relative to Indian economy, yours is an increasing one.

When it comes to Pakistan, one never knows when they are lying and when they are not. Just yesterday I was told on PDF that the Russians offered the T-90MS to Pakistan and Pakistan rejected it.
I'm going with the belief that they have at least 1 battery of the HQ-9 with a minimum of 2 launchers. Perhaps for test and evaluation.

Defeating the S-400's radars won't mean squat. If the surveillance radar is jammed, a different surveillance radar, like AWACS, will point the acquisition radar to the target. If the acquisition radar is also jammed, then the Super MKI will provide targeting data to the missiles. We will have an overdose of overlapping radars pretty soon.
The US has MALD and MALD-J and when you combine that with NGJ and stealth aircraft flying in the mix, it's going to be a difficult day for SAMs. Then you have the Kratos Valkyrie and Mako and the MASSM and Spear missiles in the future. In the meantime, lots of JASSM-ER and AARGM, plus an AARGM-ER variant soon. China very quickly comes up with copies as you know.

Thanks for the info. As of now, we aren't planning to combat the US. China will take nearly a decade to feature those systems. The S-400 is primarily for Pakistan.
As I've remarked earlier, you're pretty good with technical details of defence systems. Please confine yourself to discussions limited to such systems only. Please do not dabble into geopolitics, economics, other political issues, etc.
I think this whole thing might be a big deception operation by UK. The queen might have ordered May to influence Russia to sell S 400 to India.
China already has all kind of PGMs. A large number of air jammers and EW systems are entering service now. Remember they also operate S400. That will make things far easier for them.

As we discussed previously as well, this is not going to be the only air defense system. India also operates other systems like Akash missile and is inducting QRSAM for quick reaction against such targets.
Last but not the least. India can tactically play a very simple game with these drone attacks. India can deploy a number of dummy targets looking very similar to S-400 command posts, missile launchers, radar panels etc. China will waste its drone swarm on these decoys while India will be able to take out China/Pakistan's strategic targets in the air like Air-Refulers, AWACS etc from very long range. The reason behind such tactics is simple. It is much much easier to made a believable ground based stationery decoy than one in air. Not to mention, drones swarms being based on cost effectiveness and larger numbers will find it hard to incorporate more expensive sensors. Ultimately, this is a defensive-first weapon and a defender has much bigger advantage while operating in its own territory.
