Ukraine - Russia Conflict

Putin does what he thinks is good for them whether it succeeded or failed is a different thing but intention is present. He is not letting the problem to some future leader to solve it.

Agreed , its not a big deal. Should expect atleast 20-30% of your plans to go awry. In fact for the first few days of the war there will be lot of issues from communicating to collaborating effectively across the units, even supply line will not properly established. Its not as if every military keeps invading countries every now & then to put up a perfect fight.

This war has a lot of lessons to learned especially for India. Weapons & practice are no substitute to real experience. During war all those SOPs & drills will be as good as the men doing them. Instead of buying & hoarding expensive weapons we need to use them quite often & fine tune our fighting machine or get ready for such surprises especially given the battles in subcontinent are only fought for short duration. By the time military gets things right battle might already be over.

Our Situation is totally different from Russia

We have no territorial ambitions

Even if we push Pakistan Army slightly back , and occupy some territory for some time , it will only be to Humiliate them

And if There is war with Pakistan
Then Entire Border from LOC to Kutch will be activated so as to stretch the Pakistan Army

Here Russians are only concentrating on few cities so the defenders know their points and places where to attack

Lol. Kiev just lifted its curfew and not surprising Kharkiv has become a fail for Russian forces.

At some point they need to take him out.

If Ukraine had a little bit more capability that 3 mile long convoy north of Ukraine that is still static would have taken a severe beating. But then again Ukraine is more than likely waiting for it to get closer before they hit it with arty, Javs, NLAWS and drones.

Oh boy. Another possible disaster this time for Belarus. More cannon fodder

This is going to be a disaster for Belarus soldiers they are even less capable than their failing Russian allies.

I wonder how many Belarus soldiers will fight since Belarussians and Ukrainians have had good relations with each other.

From France (Navy), Naval News, feb.26:
French CSG Retasked With NATO Support Role
The French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and its strike group are being retasked to support NATO following the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces. The French CSG which is currently deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea as part of the "CLEMENCEAU 22" mission began a logistics stop in Cyprus. It will then be reassigned to assist NATO a French Navy (Marine Nationale) spokesman told Naval News…:

Lol. Leave it to Indian blogger to post BS for Russia. Russia doesn't have full control of Ukrainian airspace.

Quiet night in Ukraine capital even as Russia tensions flare

Moscow has so far failed to win full control of Ukraine’s airspace, despite advances across the country. U.S. officials say they believe the invasion has been more difficult, and slower, than the Kremlin envisioned, though that could change as Moscow adapts.

From France (Army): France is the framework nation of the Nato Response Force 2022, which includes a “Very high readiness joint task force” (VJTF) able to deploy within 2-7 days.

French battalion in Romania: Belgium to send 300 soldiers (updated [sunday])

In addition, Belgium said it was supplying Kiev with 2,000 machine guns and 3,800 tonnes of fuel.

The battalion for which France will be the framework nation will soon be created. In the meantime, 500 French soldiers will be deployed
[are deploying] in Romania as part of the NATO VJTF. Among them are 200 men from the 27th Alpine Hunter Battalion [mountain infantry], based in Annecy, who will leave for Romania on Monday. The last time the 27th BCA was mobilised in Eastern Europe was during the First World War, in Poland.
(…)
Another Alpine unit that will provide elements: the 4th regiment of chasseurs [light armoured reg.] from Gap. A squadron of the regiment, that is to say more than a hundred men and their logistical support will head for Romania.

(in French)

No guarantee it will stay that way.
I can't see the decision being reversed, the EU knows now that it's already become too dependent on Russian gas. Plus the sale of GFCH will be banned in 2030 anyway, so demand will drop off a cliff.

Russia is about to get even poorer.

I can see Russia not being in the 2022 World Cup either. FIFA either wants the rest of Europe in it, or wants Russia, those are its choices.

First we have a bunch of hutiyas as our countrymen who come hell or highwater keep scratching their backsides when common sense dictates they should've tried to get the hell out a long time ago.

Then they send heart rending messages on SM requesting / demanding they be evacuated which MSM duly amplifies. This is duly picked up by the opposition to raise cain back home. Then the MEA swings into action launches it's rescue mission & hogs the limelight.

I've lost count of the number of times it's occurred in the past 8 yrs.

well it looks like @randomradio was correct. The last two days despite the heavy ambushes have been about logistical regrouping.

Talks are happening, so they halted escalation as well.

Russia's army is clearly an example of what happens when you fund big expensive toys at the cost of actual combat capability.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Russian airforce was operating below 50% right now.

Trust me, that's not a problem with the new jets. And the army is still using their upgraded Cold War era stuff at this time. Availability isn't a problem for their brand new air force.

Yeah, no clue what they up to.

There is nothing for India to learn from Russia.

Um, we use British organisation and tactics, which have since morphed into our own. There indeed is nothing for us to learn.

For example, we use 12 tank squads versus 10 tank Russian squads, the organisation, formation and training for it is completely different. And we send more than enough infantry to support a tank squad.

We also use squadrons with 18 jets instead of regiments with 24 jets.

We don't even have the same doctrine. All we do is operate Russian stuff the way NATO operates their Western stuff. So does Pakistan.
