Ukraine - Russia Conflict

Russia - the new North Korea.

He was arrested in April 2022, just hours after giving an interview to American television channel CNN, in which he said Russia was run by “a regime of murderers”.

Why doesn't India separate from BRICS if it wants to encourage separation from China? As regards the war in Ukraine, there's arguably more reason to sanction India given oil imports and the complete perversion of the truth illustrated by their media.
I believe Western world disagrees with your stance and finds more reason to co-operate with India.

Regarding BRICS, India has its own independent foreign policy which we guard jealously from all foreigners alike be it China, Russia, UK, France, US or Middle East etc.

But it also finds reason to co-operate economically with China, and your Twitter pundits can't really take issue with that legitimately given your increased import of Russia oil and membership of BRICS.
We don't. What we are showing is the mirror to Western world Hippocrates how one hand they collaborate with autocratic counties for business and on second hand it's with us or against us. This holier than the thou attitude is what riles Indians the most. We know and understand that we are alone in this fight against China, we don't go asking other countries to fight or stand on our behalf. When Western world starts asking India to fall in line on Ukraine war, we just show the mirror how Europeans look for their interests, be it democratic or autocracy or military regimes. We don't really expect them to go against their interests as we expect them to no go against our interest. Plain and simple.

But it BRICS, you're still co-operating with China. It's basically an alternative banking system where China is in the driving seat.

By that yard stick, we will have to leave all groupings where China is a member country including but not limited to United Nations. That would be illogical to our interests. India continues to engage with China on both military and diplomatic front. Same way our political leadership nudges Russia and Ukraine to engage not only militarily but also diplomatically. Shutting diplomacy door has never resulted in a peaceful closure, neither in past nor in present & future.

Have you ever considered that that 'holier than thou attitude' is exactly the way you come across sometimes? And it certainly extends to more than that with the likes of randomradio and jetray.

I think if China invaded India outright, as Russia has with Ukraine, the Western world would cease co-operation with China though, so maybe it's not as equivalent as you think. And they would definitely condemn the action at the UN, rather than abstaining.

The UN isn't a co-operation of any sort, since all nations are present.

Given Putin's position and goals, there is no diplomatic solution, anymore than there would be if China wanted to steal half of India. People suggesting diplomatic solutions are living in cloud cuckoo land, it's like suggesting a diplomatic solution with Hitler in 1942. I think their real goal is simply to avoid taking a realistic position, because they know it involves picking a side.
