US - Iran Flare Up

What the Iranians should do is buy 40 upgraded Su-30SMs for now and then license produce the PAK FA. This will ensure their safety against American carriers.
With Iranian pilots there isn't a plane on Earth that can take on USN pilots in F-18E/Fs and certainly not in F-35B/Cs, assuming they have an AFB to take off from after the first 24 hours.

The Patriots in KSA were KSA operated, completely different thing. They are not linked with US-operated systems, just like Russian systems in Syria are not linked with Syrian systems
I am not talking about KSA operated systems... There is no indication that radars in US bases in Kuwait detected a massed volley of missiles.. and a package of drones..

Most definitely. Unlike the Iraqis, the Iranians are more inclined to fight.
The Iraqis were prepared to fight in 1991 too and, contrary to statements here, they had guided weapons as well, some of which were used in the Iran-Iraq war, which was fought to a stalemate over 8 years. They fired off some Silkworm missiles, which were shot down by HMS Gloucester.

There's no indication that they didn't. In fact several articles infer that they not only detected them coming, they detected the launch too.

The Houthis have successfully used human shields combined with complaints to the UN about the resulting consequences of that. 75 years ago we weeded out a superpower from entrenched position all across Europe inside 11 months. The difference was called area bombing. This new style of war is honestly tedious and it doesn't really protect civilians at all and it makes wars last forever. Give the civilians a month to leave Houthi areas and then flatten them from the air, then move in and take them. If anyone fires a shot while you're moving in, withdraw and give the area another 48 hours of saturation bombardment. The last step is to be repeated until successful.

The UN will briefly cry their eyes out, but the war will be over and there will be no more casualties.
So, why didn't the KSA do it in Yemen? What prevented the US from doing it there? The highlighted part is amusing. I like how the UK palms of the invasion of Europe by the allies as a solely if not mostly a UK enterprise. No mention of the massive indirect help from the Eastern front courtesy Stalin or of the massive shot in the arm provided by the US or even of the Commonwealth.

Coming back to the topic, I'm surprised you didn't mention nukes. A few nukes up their *censored* and the mad mullahs along with their followers in Iran would be history.

Because, despite RT's version of events, they are mostly using precision weapons and trying to minimise collateral, plus KSA lack B-52s/B-1Bs and B-2 to blanket Houthi-held areas efficiently.

The US is not engaged there.

It was mostly a UK enterprise, even according to a US news outlet. The Commonwealth fell under the UK back then, and we do acknowledge the massive help from the US. Stalin has the Russian winter to thank for his victory and the D-Day invasions, not to mention the Ruhr valley being flooded.

It's not actually a bad idea. When you look at Hiroshima and Nagasaki thriving today, one would have to conclude that Islamic theocracies do more long-term damage than nukes.

Well, the US obviously won't lose. If the Iranians show up with 150-200 PAK FAs, then it's going to be a problem for any adversary to attack Iran.

In the end it's about raising costs of war.

Anyway, the PAK FA won't need an AFB to operate. Did you forget about Soviet/Russian doctrine? The PAK FA's been designed to operate from unprepared runways. It has a variable inlet that protects the engine from FOD while doubling up as a radar blocker.

No, they didn't fight. Both times.

Thats being ungrateful to the Russians.. 80 percent of German soldiers died on the eastern front (and the very cream ). Operation Bagration was equally if not more important than D-Day landings. It destroyed German army group centre, and caused 400000 casualties within 2 months... But, noone hears much about it .

Maybe in the distant future.. Currently there are just a dozen prototypes

They can buy aircraft only after Oct 2020. If we assume a contract by 2021, the 40 Su-30s will take 5 years to deliver. So it's 2025 by then already. The PAK FA will have become ready by then.

Even Russia won't have 200 Su-57s. The US can afford the cost more than Iran, The US already have well over 200 stealth aircraft in service right now.

Err... they fought as much as they were allowed. After the first 24-48hrs their air force gave up because they couldn't even see what was killing them and their radar scopes looked like someone was playing Tetris on them.

Of course Stalin was helped out by both UK and US supplies too, which you obviously forgot.
You mean without this help Stalin could never have won the Eastern front against the Wehrmacht? Meanwhile, the US & UK were busy shoring up partisans across Europe none of which yielded any tangible results except for being an irritant to ze Germans .Thank you for such pearls of wisdom gleaned as they are from the University of Dublin. Now, can we please return to the topic.

Unlike Russia, Iran has to build up from scratch, so they can afford that in the long run if they license produce. They can't afford direct imports.

In the first war, they ran away back into Iraq. In the second war, they were bribed into not fighting.
