He has been cleared to fly again an ejection seat aircraft by IAM but IAF HQ have yet to clear the recommendation. After my second ejection, even I had started Sim training on Sea Harriers but the IN HQ stopped it and posted me to non ekection seat aircraft as I had already ejected twice. The HQ have over riding powers over the medical board.

27 Feb 2019 analysis .... again ... a good read !

8 pieces of clinching evidence that show how IAF's Abhinandan shot down a Pakistani F-16

Using Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) & other evidence, an IAF veteran reconstructs IAF-PAF battle day after Balakot & concludes PAF indeed lost an F-16.

That was an excellent piece,
can't imagine someone actually did all that technical work.

Having said that, the only clinching evidence we need is Gafooras own words,
He admitted that multiple pilots were captured, that is the bottom line and all the proof needed.

Wow what a gem of an article , great dedication and hard work done by Joe , hats off. Quite hard to understand for layman like me but anyways conclusions are enough to prove that PAF lost an asset that day , a dedicated PAF pilot vanished in thin air and his records erased, devoid of any respect by his nation.

Pardon me but I don't find this article impressive at all. Most of the stuff in it has been discussed to death in all the forums I've lurked. There is nothing new. Add to that so much sensationalist language.

This article is not gonna help our cause. At this point, I think nothing other than conclusive proof will. Maybe our raksha mantri can give the name of the dead pilot for starters. They claimed to know about it .

Exceptional!

IAF must hire those Biswa and Benedose guy, they are much better than most they have. With minimal terrain feature they pinpointed the exact location of video shoot of not one user but 3! This is truly exceptional.

Shooting down of f16 was never in doubt but this article proves it conclusively! Way better than investigation done by BBC of that African incident, they used special terrain matching software to geo located the video, here they did it manually! Can't even begin to imagine how hard it would have been.

This is the best investigation ever of any event, they literally have nothing yet they kept digging for months. Hats off! Exceptional.

There is nothing sensationalist in that article , everything written is backed by evidences and proven with calculations by an IAF pilot. So if u think u know more than an IAF pilot about air battles ,then good for you. Its personal choice to believe it or not but the article is fantastic

I am talking about the language used.

I am talking about the language used.
Language is actually very mild , he doesn't say things like PAF is useless , instead he says its the most potent force of the three , it has a glorious history. They didn't need to hide their casualties in the past. Joe blamed ISPR for lying through their teeth. He says people like Kaiser Tufail needs to lie for blunders by ISPR etc etc.
His every point is backed explanation. Simplest way to prove is debri evidence but we dont have it , thats why these people took all the hard work to bring out this article.

Trust is not the same thing as proof. The rest of the world doesn't care about that. With all our resources we could have at least snagged a pic of the dead pilot or the crashed plane and leak it in the media
You don't want to even believe the pilot who saw his missile hit the aircraft or the ground controller who saw the trace vanish after F-16 was hit?
What is the surety that you will even believe the picture of the dead body of the pilots and the pictures of the wreckage of F-16. They all can be photoshopped.

Again belief and having proof is not the same thing. I believe our authorities because they are not known to lie about these things unlike Pakistanis but do I know for sure. And go ahead use this argument in front of a non indian if you have the overwhelming urge to get laughed at. A picture of a mangled corpse of Shahbaz haider would have done wonders for our side but we were simply not bothered. Our people let the rumour of 'shahzad us din' float for so long only for it fall in our face. Belief doesn't get you anywhere in the outside world unfortunately.

Okay then what about the radar imagery?

Sir, as others here have noted, we've already been through all the points discussed in this article. However its nice for someone to recompile them in a single piece, it makes things simpler for all parties.

I've read (and responded to) Sameer Joshi's earlier articles as well (one on Balakot, another on F-16), and as observed earlier, he tends to write about EVERYTHING, and that too in an loosely structured manner. The repetition of certain points doesn't help the reader either. Additional sensationalism is understandable because these articles are intended for a different audience.

If you're interested in my personal opinions, I've stated them before in the following posts:
