Air Battle over Kashmir : MiG-21 Bison shoots down F-16

Fuses were removed.

Nope.

And that is where the aam Pakistani thinks from his/her backside.

Why would you waste a SOW only to remove its fuzes when you could have achieved the very same result, in the very same area with a dumb bomb tossed up and without fuze at a fraction of the cost?

This is where the average Pakistani is an idiot. And most of Indians too.

The area you have supposedly targeted is next to LC. Easily could be targeted with a LGB from an artillery gun. Or with dumb bombs from PAF without fuzes, and same result would have been achieved.

But my dear sir, PAF used SOWs, from within own territories ... and targets were on LC?

Now I will give you a theory to munch over. Said it earlier too.

1. Primary Targets were Avantipore and Srinagar AFBs.
2. Due to jamming and active CAPs, PAF switched over to secondary targets.
3. Failed to achieve as the same were jammed & failed to 'arm' themselves as they reached the target area.

In which case, the provocation was grave enough to merit a response. The so called "Qatl ki Raat". Why exactly didn't Modi act on it? I don't buy the Abhinandan episode, though that provided a convenient fig leaf for our non action.

Well, if you recall, US Special Forces Commander was in India immediately.

There was a US proposal to de-escalate. And other strategic considerations.

The only point was, had Abhinandan not been released, we would have seen BrahMos in air definitely.

We post poned the strike for US interests in Afghanistan and In return US support for taking back PoK?

How is the Mirage-2000 upgrade by HAL going..? How many upgraded Mirages do we have? The last I heard was that the reason for the crash in Bangalore was probably the flight computer..

Not support for taking back Pok.. Neutrality is enough...

To increase Indian participation in Afghanistan and to minimize interaction with Iran, like USA wanted..
We need PoJK.

USA have to do more than just being neutral.

Even I have a feeling that the main targets were Srinagar and Awantipore AFBs. Pak chose PAF to respond to Balakot and it was supposed to be an action against IAF which did Balakot and not IA. One more thing which gives credence to this is the fact that as a counterattack for 27th raid, India had decided to destroy 13 PAF bases using Brahmos. And these bases had been locked by Brahmos on that night. IN was supposed to take out two of them from Sea.
