Russia is aggressively pushing for Mig35 and is promising the usage of Safranised Kaveri as well and has offered financial packages which are very relaxed in terms and order.

With Rafale ; FGFA ; LCA Mk 2 coming in ; where is the room for Mig 35
 
Modi has messed up the Su-57 deal. Hope he does not do the same with the Rafale deal. We are still talking about only assembling of Rafales in India and Not being manufactured in India like SU-30MKIs even after direct procurement of 72 Rafales from France. This is a huge lost opportunity by India.

The problem is HAL

Dassault cannot work or does not want to work with with HAL
 
  • Safranised Kaveri Engine deal semi finalised owing to some differences rising in particular tech aspect.
  • Safransied Kaveri V1.0 Engine deal semi-finalized, the core is M8X-X based But without full passage of TOT.
  • The TOT and IPR holders want a share of the pie which has caused the delay in finalisation

Now since bad news is over, let's focus on good news
  • Biggest plus point - Safransied Kaveri V1 will be able to power Indian Rafales with minimal modifications (certain points termed as pod modifications)

I Believe Saffranised Kaveri will be nothing but another Huge delay like the Scorpene

And then there will be a need for Additional contracts to be signed
because of the delays and hurdles placed

Finally Nobody will care whether Any Rafale is using Kaveri or not

IAF and IN only care for their squadron numbers

So they will be asking for quick finalisation of deals

It seems to me that they plan to use Kaveri 2.0 for F4.2 that is to say 2025
At short term they can use existing M-88 or M-88 9t version with upgraded technology to get 8.3 t and 10 t respectively.
The M-88 10 t could be interchangeable with Kaveri 1.0 when this one be ready.
 
Without movement on Rafale, nothing will happen on the Mig-35 front. Once Rafale is on track, IAF will go for the FGFA, not Mig-35.

HAL's plan to push the Mig-35 won't happen.

I think after this the only combat plane coming form Russia (or atleast the only one that should) is FAFA / Su57.
We have entered a phase where we are demanding co-development from them whith some IPRs aswell.
We will be asking that from France / Israel aswell pretty soon (if we aren't already).

If not then what is the use of saffranised kaveri

What is known is that M 88 -4 E is already ready for induction

Yes if you add a blisk in Kaveri you will reduce the diameter to fit in the Rafale...

Yep. Nothing but FGFA from them.
 
@Aashish probably a bit off topic. If India doesn't go with the su57 program. What are the chances of it falling into Chinese hands? Would that be a big blow to us?
If Russians can bring it to some acceptable level, India will definitely buy it. If not, then there is no reason for Chinese to buy a sub par fighter.

To get access to some better technology may be.. Money isn't a problem for them.

AMCA's development will be linked to the new tender. So the winner of the tender will have to help out DRDO.
