WRT TVC and crazy stuff in Air. As a matter of fact J10 is exactly what India wanted it's own LCA to be. Longer legs, Higher thrusts, canards, AND CHEAP as F. Sasta and Takatvar Desi Gripen.
Look at LCA MK2 it's headed in J10 direction anyways.

Are you sure? Are you among those who can tell engines apart based on their exhaust ports like the cpc bots? or am I missing something here.

It's easy to tell apart the AL-31 from the WS-10 models, even air show released confirm the differences, but we can't tell apart each WS-10 variant without state confirmation. When it comes to this, it has state confirmation. The WS-10B was specifically made for the J-10C. Also, the aircraft picture is that of an operational variant with its serial number erased, and was released by the state.

I suspect that images and aesthetic differences might just be different variants of the AL31 assembled in China and not necesarily WS-BS.

You are right but what makes the difference is LCA mk2 or MWF will be having one of the most reliable turbofan engine GE414epe and a whole lot of Western avionics, electronic warfare suite and weapons like Astra missile, sfdr, Mica Ng ASRAAM, SAAW, most probably Hammer guided bombs, etc...
That will make it a much potent and reliable platform for decades to come...

Nah, the engine is the real deal. There's no Russian tech involved. They also have the WS-10C operational on the J-20 and now they even have a next gen WS-15. No relation between the Fencer and WS-10.
