Rafale DH/EH of Indian Air Force : News and Discussions

@Picdelamirand-oil what would be the future of Rafale fighters post 2040? Do you have any plan to upgrade Rafale beyond F5 version?
You will be getting new stealth fighter by 2040 I guess. So chances Rafale's time upgrade will be a problem after that time frame I fear.

From India's perspective, if MRFA goes through and we induct all the aircraft we need by 2040, then we need an MLU program starting in 2050.

France also plans to induct Rafales all the way until FCAS is inducted. So they will need upgrades for as long a duration as India does.

Egyptian sources tell Breaking Defense that this may not be the last Rafale purchase. Egypt is now eying the Rafale F4. “We are looking to increase the (overall) number to 72 or 100 units, depending on Egypt’s financial capacity.”

And Egypt's GDP is 320 Billion Dollars

While India's GDP is 2.8 Trillion Dollars

In Feb 2019 , the Excuse was we Did NOT have Rafales

The Next Excuse will be , we had only 36 Rafales

Yes, it is very complicated to sell planes to India.
KSA & UAE are bankrolling a lot of these purchases. With Pakistan no longer their trusted mercenary, Turkey bearing their fangs & Iran being Iran, the Arab states have turned to Egypt as some sort of a security provider plus Turkey & Egyptian military don't see eye to eye on a lot of matters.

It is not enough for UAE and the Arab states to buy F-35s? :ROFLMAO:

You have business in these arab states only because F-35 requests were rejected by US. So be thankful.

“After the US rejected Egypt’s request to acquire 20 F-35 jets back in 2019, Cairo had to look for a fighter with technologies closer to the fifth generation,” Al-Kenany said

The UAE has little to no experience of waging war. One reckons they could be better than the armed forces of KSA which isn't saying much at all. Their experience in Yemen is there before you.

If I were French I'd be very worried by sales of Rafale to Arab countries. The Soviet Union sold arms & aircrafts by the tonne to Egypt & Syria & after a few initial successes they came up a cropper against Israel in the Yom Kippur war in 1973.

Now just a few years before that, in 1971 , India won the war with similar equipment with great aplomb.

God forbid, if there's a skirmish between Egypt & Israel, like what we had with Pakistan a couple of years ago & a few Rafales go down to Israeli F-35 , F-15 & F-16 combo, you'd spend the rest of your time out here defending Rafales till we come to your rescue in more ways than one.

The Croatian government has decided to buy 12 used French F3R Rafale fighter jets, Jutarnji list has learned unofficially
well-informed sources.

The decision should be made by the Government for Armed Forces Day. It is a twin-engine fighter plane and, as we find out,
the oldest plane that would be delivered to Croatia is 10 years old. According to available information,
Croatia would pay just under a billion euros for the entire package, which includes planes, training and weapons.

At today's session of the Defense Council, support was given to the Government for the purchase of a fighter jet.

President Zoran Milanovic in the Croatia barracks said a little later that the government had not been given a recommendation on what
type of aircraft to buy, but hoped "that he and the prime minister understood each other well".
Asked if he knew which plane we were buying, he replied "No comment".

After the official decision of the Government to accept the French offer, negotiations on the contract follow.

If the contract were signed this year, France would deliver the first six planes in 2024, and the remaining six a year later.
President Milanović, on the other hand, said that planes must be in Croatia by 2024 at the latest.

I think it is the Israelis who should fear a confrontation with the Rafale.

We have money for all nonsense except for defense spending.

Then that will be a big blow to Rafale's reputation. You cannot win I. D.F/IAF with Rafale.

Sorry. When it comes to Jews vs Arabs, I'd back the Jews to prevail 9.99999 /10 . There's nothing in recent history to prove otherwise, irrespective of the platform.

BTW - who can say if your own Dassault won't offer the Israelis know how on to defeat the Rafales. After all, Dassault Pere was a firm supporter of the Zionist movement & the state of Israel & during the Falklands war the French went all out to aid UK & sabotage Argentine efforts in spite of Argentina being a client of France's arms exports.

That is because Egypt and Jordan have abandoned Palestine and Palestinians

And they dont want damage to their countries for Palestine

And for Gulf Oil.Rich countries , Palestinian issue is just a burden

Syria and Lebanon are in Tatters
They cannot even feed their own people

Above all Israel will exercise its Samson Option , it will go down but take every one of its enemies down along with them

We were discussing a hypothetical scenario Involving a possible skirmish between Egyptian & Israeli Air Forces. You took the whole thing to say different level.

I understand these are difficult times but pls keep a check on your testosterone levels.

Proves the point.

LOL is on Rafale that will not get the UAE order now.
Is it really important to order Rafales from a small country like the UAE?

Egypt has already ordered 54 Rafales and is thinking of increasing this total to 72 or 100, and Qatar has ordered 36 and has an option for another 36. Since the beginning of the year, we have sold 18 Rafales to Greece, 30 Rafale to Egypt and we have just sold 12 Rafale to Croatia, which makes 60 Rafale.

Moreover Indonesia is doing the administrative work to buy 36 Rafale and we have good chances in Switzerland and Finland.

Really, the UAE is like India, if it happens, so much the better, if not, we'll do without it.

It is because many people are like you that Israel has much more to lose in terms of reputation than the Egyptians. And if there was a skirmish between Egyptian Rafales and Israeli F-35s, I think it would be the F-35s that would go down.
